Mr. Hazen submitted the following amendment:
Section 12, strike out "fifty dollars" and insert "first en-
gineer, one hundred dollars per month;"
Which was adopted.
Mr. Pilkington submitted the following amendment:
Section 12, line 8, strike out "two" and insert "one;"
line 9, strike out. "three" and insert "two," line 9, strike
out "twenty" and insert "ten;"
Which was adopted.
Mr. Jamison submitted the following amendment:
Strike out "Section 12;"
Decided in the negative.
Mr. Pilkington submitted the following amendment:
Section 18, line 12, after "sergeants" strike out "forty-five"
and insert "forfry;" after "corporals" strikeout "thirty-five"
and insert "thirty," line 19, strike out "thirty" and insert
"twenty-eight;"
Which was adopted.
Mr. McCauley submitted the following amendment:
Section 12, strike out "forty-five," in lines 4 and 5,
and insert "thirty;"
Which was adopted.
Mr. Miller, of Washington county, moved to re-consider
the vote by which the amendment submitted by Mr. Hazen.
was adopted, to increase the pay of the engineer to one hun-
dred dollars;
Decided in the affirmative.
Mr. Pilkington submitted the following amendment:
Line 19, insert, "give engineer seventy-five dollars,"
Decided in the negative.
The question again recurring upon the amendment sub-
mitted by Mr. Hazen;
It was adopted.
Mr. Holloway moved that the House adjourn;
Decided in the negative.
Mr. Pilkington submitted the following amendment;
Section 15, line 5, strike out "semi-annually" and insert
"quarterly," and after "employees," strike out "quarterly"
and insert "monthly;"
