Mr. Smith, of Dorchester, presented a petition from Levi D. Travel's, of Dorchester county, praying to be restored to the rights of citizenship, Which was read and referred to the committee on Regis- tration. Mr. Darling presented ti petition from 300 citizens of Bal- timore, protesting against the repeal or modification of the Registry Law, Which was read and referred to the committee on Regis- tration. Mr. Calvert presented a petition from 22 citizens and prop- erty holders of Bladensburg, against the bill which has been reported, empowering the Commissioners of said village to levy a tax; Which was read and referred to the committee on Corpo- rations. Mr. Miller, of Washington, presented a petition from Alexander Shaf'er, Joseph R. Long, Lewis 'Watson, and sixty other citizens of Washington county, praying the repeal of an act passed January session, 18C4, entitled "Fish. and Fishe- ries," in relation to the Potomac river, between New Creek and Weaverion dam; Which was read and referred to the committee on the Ju- diciary. The Speaker laid before the House a petition from George Harrison, nt;iyor of the city of Cumberland and two hundred and fifty other citizen"-!, pray ing a modification of the present Registry Law of the State; Which was read and referred to the committee on Regis- tration.
