The Senate proceeded to consider the assessment bill; Mr. McMaster submitted the following amendment; Section 4, line 2, after the word "affirmative," insert the words "before the Clerk of the Circuit Court of the several counties and the city of Baltimore." Mr. Ohr, submitted the following amendment to the amendment: Section 4. line 3 after the word "affirmation" insert "some person authorized by law to administer oaths;" Which wag read and adopted; And the amendment as amended was then adopted. Mr. Ohr, submitted the following amendment: Section 5. Amend line 3, by striking; out the words "pas- sage of this act" and insert "notice of his appointment;" Which was read and adopted. Mr. Turner submitted the following amendment: Section 5, line 9, after the word "or" insert "Mayor of Baltimore city." Which was read and adopted. Mr. Billingslea, of Carroll, submitted the following amend- ment: Section 5, in line 12, after "appoint" strike out "county commissioners" and insert "Governor;." Which was read, and Determined in the negative. Mr. Turner, submitted the following amendment: Section 5, after the word "the" on line 13, add "Mayor of Baltimore city;" Which was read and adopted. |
