Mr. Comegys, from a Select committee, reported favorably
a bill entitled, an Act to secure the completion of the Kent
county R:iilrond by the Kent county Railro;id, company;
Which was read the second, time.
Mr. Clift, from a Select committee, reported favorably
Senate bill entitled, an Act to prohibit, the granting of license
for the sale of spirituous or fermented liquors or lager beer at
or near Upper Hunting Creek, in Caroline and Dorchester
counties, in the State of Maryland;
Which was read the second time.
Mr. Smith, of Dorchester, moved to refer the said bill to the
Dorchester and Caroline counties delegations;
Mr. Tull m:)ved. to amend hy adding^ "and that said com-
mittee report by one o'clock to-morrow;"
Decided in the negative.
The question r83urring upon the motion of Mr. Smith, of
Dorchester;
It was decided in affirmative.
The joint resolution directing the State Librarian to fur-
nish the clerk of the Circuit court of Allegany county, with
certain books;
Was taken up for consideration on its second reading.
Mr. Rinehart submitted the following amendment;
Strike out "Librarian," and insert " that the County
Commissioners of the several courts and Appeal tax court of
Baltimore city he authorized to."
On motion of Mr. Pilkington,
The resolution was laid on the table.
The joint resolution appointing Alexander M. Rogers, of
Baltimore city, to draft General Laws providing for cases
enumerated in section 32, of article 3, of the constitution,
and for all other cuses where a General Law can bo made ap-
plicable;
Was taksn up for consideration on its second reading.
Mr. Barron submitted the following amendment:
.Amend the first resolution by striking out all between the
word "resolved," in the first line, and the word "to" in the
third line, and insert the following, "that the Governor be
and he is hereby authorized and empowered to appoint a
cemmisBioncr."
