Mr. Smith, of Frederick, presented a memorial of Jacob
Rudy, and severity-six others, praying a passage of an Act to
incorporate the Lake Erie and Chesapeake Railroad Company;
.. Which was read and referred to the committee on Corpo-
rations,
Mr. Shaw, presented a memorial of three hundred and
eighty-four citizens of Carroll county, to repeal or modify the
Registry Law;
"Which was read and referred to the committee on Regis-
tration,
Mr. Holloway presented a petition from twenty-six citizens
of Worcester county against the New County;
Which was read and referred to the Somerset and Worces-
ter county delegations.
Mr. McCauley presented a memorial from F. A. Linton, and
other citizens of Cecil county, against the Registration Law;
Which was read and referred to the committee on Regis-
tration.
Mr. Smith, of Allegany, submitted the following order:
Ordered, That to facilitate the transaction of the business
of this House, no bill shall be called up out of its regular
order, unless it be some one of the important measures which
we have been convened by the Governor to consider;
Which was rejected.
Mr. Hazen submitted the following order:
That one thousand copies of the reports of the committee on
Elections be printed for distribution in this House;
Which was adopted.
On motion of Mr. Markey,
Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that Mr. Keefer,
of Frederick, is absent from his seat on account of sickness
in his family.
On motion of Mr. McCauley,
Ordered, That two hundred of the two thousand copies of
the report of the Superintendent of Public Instruction ordered
to be printed, be furnished the said Superintendent for dis-
tribution among the schools of the State.
Mr. Poteet, from the committee on Claims, reported favor-
ably Senate bill entitled, an Act appropriating a sum of
money to pay the claim of Henry H. Owings, for costs in the
