Leave was granted the committee on Finance to report a
bill entitled, an Act for the relief of Benjamin G. Fitzhugh,
late clerk of the circuit court for Frederick county.
On motion of Mr. Tome,
Leave was granted the committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to report a bill entitled, an Act to repeal and re-enact
the Acts passed January session, 1865, chapter 33, 49 and
196, and amend the same to authorize the Treasurer on the
warrant of the Comptroller to pay such soldiers as have not
been paid under said Acts.
On motion of Mr. Tome,
Leave was granted the committee on Finance to report a
bill entitled, an Act to authorize the Governor, Comptroller
and Treasurer to sell the State's interest in the stock of the
city of Baltimore, and the York and Cumberland Railroad
Company, standing to the credit of the sinking fund.
On motion of Mr. Tome,
Leave was granted the committee on Judicial Proceedings
to report a bill entitled, an Act to repeal an Act passed Jan-
uary session, 1864, to encourage enlistments in this State,
chapter fifteen, and re-enact and amend the same to discharge
the registration of Baltimore city and the County Commis-
sioners, and to require them to settle with the Comptroller
and pay money on hand into the funds of the State, and au-
thorize the Treasurer on the warrant of the Comptroller, to
pay such bounties as may remain unpaid under said Act.
Mr. Holton submitted the following:
Ordered, That the Senate meet at 4 o'clock P. M., until
the assessment bill is disposed of, to consider that bill and no
other;
Which was read and adopted.
On motion of Mr. Stephenson,
The vote was re-considered;
Mr. Earle moved to lay it upon the table,
It was determined in the negative by yeas and nays as fol-
