Also, favorably a bill entitled, an Act to amend and re-
enact the 25th section, of article 38, of the Code of Public
General Laws, relating to the fees of sheriffs;
Which was read the first time.
Also, favorably a bill entitled, an Act to authorize and
empower the President and Commissioners of the village of
Bladensburg, in Prince George county, to levy a tax on the
assessable property within the corporate limits of said village
for the purpose of village improvements;
Which was read the first time.
Also, favorably a bill, entitled an Act to provide additional
funds for the purpose of Free Public Schools in the State of
Maryland;
. Which was read the first time.
Also, favorably a bill entitled, an Act to prohibit the
granting of licenses for the sale of spirituous or fermented
liquors or lager beer at or near Savage Factory in Howard
county, in the State of Maryland;
Which was read the first time.
Also, unfavorably a bill entitled an' Act to constitute
eight hours a legal days work;
Which was lead the first time.
Mr. Fawcett, from a select committee, reported faxorably
a bill entitled, an Act to prohibit the issuing of licenses for
the sale of spirituous or fermented liquors within 3 1/2 miles of
Burton's School House and Church, in the Fifth Election
District of Montgomery county;
Which was read the first time.
Also, favorably a bill entitled, an Act to empower the
county commissioners of Montgomery county, to re-open and.
adjust the claim of Nathan Childs, for damages on a road,
and to levy such additional sum as they may think rightly
due him for damages as aforesaid;
Which was read the first time.
Also, favorably a bill entitled, an Act to restore William
Thompson of R-, of Montgomery county, to the elective
franchise and full rights of citizenship;
