A bill entitled, an Act to authorize J. McCauly, Executor
of Emily Galloway, late of Cecil county, deceased, to pay to
S. W. Van Culin, Executive Officer of the Disciples Church
of Philadelphia, a legacy bequeathed to said church;
Which was read the first time and referred to the commit-
tee on Judicial Proceedings.
A bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Union Railroad
Company, and to authorize the Mayor and City Council of
Baltimore, the Northern Central, the Western Maryland
Railroad Company, and the Canton Company, to subscribe
and endorse the bonds of said company;
Which was read the first time and referred to the commit-
tee on Internal Improvements.
Mr. Frazier presented the petition of citizens of Dorchester
county, to prohibit the sale of liquors in the village of
Church Creek;
Which was read and referred to Messrs. Frazier, McNeal
and Lansdale.
Mr. Trail presented the petition of citizens of Mechanics-
town, against the passage of a bill entitled, an Act prohibit-
ing the sale of liquors,
Which was read and referred to the committee on Judi-
cial Proceedings,
Mr. Davis, of Washington county, presented the petition
of citizens against an appropriation to the Western Mary-
land Railroad;
Which was read and referred to the committee on Internal
Improvements,
Mr. Vickers presented the petition of T. J. White and
others, Trustees of All Saints Church, of Howard county,
asking the conveyance of property therein mentioned;
Which was read and referred to the committee on Judicial
Proceedings,
The Chair laid before the Senate, a communication from
R. P. Bayley,
Which was read and referred to the committee on Finance;
Also, resolutions of East Baltimore Union League,
Which were read and referred to the committee on Elec-
tions.
Mr. Wells, asked leave to report back to the Senate the
bill entitled, an Act incorporating the town of Denton,
Caroline county,
