Mr. Willis moved to suspend the rules to place the bill on
its second reading;
Decided in the negative.
Mr. Jamison, from a select committee, reported favorably
a bill entitled, an Act to authorize James Richardson, of St.
Mary's county, to erect two gates on a public road passing
through his lands in said county; '
"Which was read the first time.
Mr. Miller, of Washington, from. a select committee, re-
ported favorably a bill entitled, an Act to amend article 21,
of the Code of Public Local Laws, relating to Washington
county, by adding thereto additional sections authorizing the
Mayor and Council of Hagerstown to open streets and alleys
in said town;
On motion of Mr. Miller, of Washington,
The said bill was re-committed to the Washington county
delegation.
Mr. Smith, of Allegany, from a Select committee, reported
favorably a bill entitled, an Act to repeal section 107, of
article 1, of the Code of Public Laws for Allegany county, re-
lating to the Superintendent of National Road, as re-enacted
by the Act of 1862, chapter 176, and the Act of 1864, chap-
ter 64, and to re-enact the same with amendments thereto;
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Brown, from a Select committee, reported favorably a
bill entitled, an Act to amend section 18, of article 1, of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany county, relating to
the salary of the Clerk of the County Commissioners of said
county;
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Zeigler, from a Select committee, reported favorably
a bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Farmer and Me-
chanic's Mutual Insurance Company;
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Miller, of Washington county, moved to re-commit
the said bill to the Washington county delegation;
Determined in the negative.
Mr. Slothower, from a Select committee, reported favorably
a bill entitled, an Act for the relief of William Watson, a
lunatic of Baltimore county;
"Which was read the first time.
