Ordered, That at any time during the session of the House
this day it will be in order to receive reports of bills from
Standing or Special committees.
Mr, Miller, of Anne Arundel moved to take up the resolu-
tions introduced by him on January 11, in reference to the
policy of President Johnson;
Decided in the negative.
On motion of Mr. Williams,
Leave was granted the committee on the Judiciary to report
a bill to repeal the fifth article of the Code of Public General
Laws, and to re-enact the same with amendment'-.
On motion of Mr. Jones,
Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to report
a bill to incorporate the Miller's Patent, Safe company.
On motion of Mr. Rinehart,
Leave was granted Messrs, Rinehart, Shaw, Hoffman, Faw--
cett and Zeigler, to report a bill to enable any nine or more
persons citizens of Mary land to construct Railroads with certain
restrictions
Mr. Rinehart submitted the following
JOINT RESOLUTION abolishing the thirtieth section of
third article of the Constitution:
Resolved by the .General Assembly of Maryland, three-fifths
of the. members elected to both Houses concurring, That the
Constitution be and is hereby amended "by striking out section
thirty of article three;
Which was read the first time.
On motion of Mr. Barron,
Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that had Thos.
H. Mules, of Baltimore city, been present, when the vote was
taken, he would have voted in favor of the resolutions en-
dorsing the message of the Governor.
Mr. Soper, from the committee on Ways and Means, re-
ported favorably a bill entitled, an Act supplementary to an
Act passed March 24, 1865, chapter 183, entitled, "an Act
making appropriations for the support of the Government for
the year ending on the first day of January, 1867.
Which was read the first time.
