and Frederick Turnpike road to remove their first gate the
proper distance from the city limits 'in accordance with its
charter, also with power to regulate the tolls on said road.
On motion of Mr. Jones,
Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to report
a bill to incorporate the Light Street Steamboat company of
Baltimore.
Also, leave was granted the same committee to report a bill
to incorporate the Baltimore Theatre and Opera House com-
pany.
Also, leave was granted the committee on the Judiciary to
report a bill providing for a uniform basis on assessments for
taxation.
On motion of Mr. Cook.
Leave was granted the committee on the Judiciary to re-
port a bill to repeal sections 2, 10 and 33 of article 81 of the
Code of Public General Laws and to re-enact the same with
amendments.
On motion of Mr. Slothower,
Leave was granted the committee on Claims to report a
bill to refund to Ross Campbell & Co. taxes erroneously paid.
On motion of Mr. Pilkington,
Leave was granted the committee on the Judiciary to report
bill to empower the commissioners of Bladensburg to levy
and collect a tax.
On motion of Mr. Miller, of Washington,
Leave was granted the Washington county delegation to
report a hill to add an additional section to article 21 of the
Code of Public Local Laws relating to Washington county,
so as to authorize the Mayor and Council of Hagerstown to
open and repair sewers and water courses in said town.
Mr. Smith, of Allegany, submitted the following resolution:
.Resolved by the Senate and House of Delegates a/Maryland,
That the State Librarian be and he is hereby directed to
transmit to the Clerk of the Circuit court for Allegany county
the following books for the use of the court and bar, to be by
him retained and kept in the Court House:
1, 3, 4, Harris & McHenry,
1, 2, 5, 6, 7, Harris & Johnson,
1, 2, Harris & Gill,
