Gambrill vs. Sprigg Harwood; Which was read and ordered to be printed. (See Document G.) Mr. Lusby, from a Select committee, imported favorably an Act to authorize and require the County Commissioners of Baltimore county to convey a certain lot of ground to the Board of School Commissioners of Baltimore county; Which was read the first time. Also, favorably an Act to incorporate the town of Ellicott's Mills by the name of Ellicott's city; Which was read the first time. Mr. Slothower, from a Select committee, reported favorably an Act to amend the 56th article of the Code of Public General Laws, by adding thereto the following sections relating to the amount to be paid by any person or corporation who may sell or barter spirituous or fermented liquors or lager beer; Which was read the first time. Mr Sherry, from a Select committee, reported favorably an Act to authorize the County Commissioners of Allegany coun- ty to subscribe to the capital stock of the Western Maryland Railroad company; Which was read the first time. Also favorably, a bill entitled, an Act to repeal section 41 of the supplement to the Code of Public Local Laws, vol. 2, entitled "Public County Road from Barrellville to Western- port, Allegany county," and to re-enact the same with amend- ments; Which was read the first time. Mr. Mittag, from a select committee, reported favorably a bill entitled, an Act to legalize the acts of the Burgess and Commissioners of the town of Hancock, in Washington county; Which was read the first time. Mr. Rider, from a select committee, reported favorably a bill entitled, an Act for the division of Somerset and Wor- cester counties, and for erecting a new county by the name of Wicomico county; Which was read the first time. Mr. Lee, from a select committee, reported favorably a bill entitled, an Act to authorize the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to increase the issue of water stock, to assess and collect water rates and water taxes, to supply water on the line of their water works, and to protect said water works from injury; |
