Willis, Wilson, Wooden, Ziegler—73. The journal of yesterday was read and approved. Mr. Stewart presented a petition from William Welling and forty-three other citizens of the 5th Election district of Howard county, praying the passage of a law prohibiting the sale of intoxicating drinks in said county; Which was read and referred to the Howard county dele- gation. Mr. Hoffman presented a petition from John H. Long- necker and others of Baltimore county, asking that the Reg- istry Law may not be modified; Which -was read and referred to the committee on Regis- tration. Mr. Eavey presented a petition from fifty citizens of Wash- ington county praying the passage of the Chesapeake and Lake Erie Railroad hill; Which was read and referred to the committee on Corpo- rations. Mr. Tull presented a petition in behalf of the bill for the "better observance of the Sabbath from William Woodward, E. & S. Frey, Leonard Passano, William Bridges and 166 other citizens of Baltimore; "Which was read and referred to the committee on the Ju- diciary.
