An Act to prohibit the Commissioners of the several coun-
ties of the State and the City Council of Baltimore from al-
lowing extra compensation to the State's Attornies;
Which were read the first time.
Mr. Poteet, from the committee on Claims, reported favor-
ably the following bills:
An Act to appropriate a sum of money to pay William
Camden and David Fowler extra compensation for services
rendered the State;
An Act to appropriate a gum of money to pay certain mem-
bers of the committee on Ways and Means of the House of
Delegates and of the committee on Finance in the Senate of
1864, for labors performed and services rendered after the
adjournment of the Legislature, in accordance with the re-
quirements of joint resolution number eleven, assented to
March 10, 1864.
An Act to appropriate a sum of money to pay George W.
Jefferson, Francis J. Henry and Alexander Woolfard for
fees due from the State;
An Act appropriating a sum of money to pay Richard M.
Williams for professional services; Joseph Ebaugh, late Sher-
iff of Carroll county, for services rendered the State;
Which were read the first time.
The petition of Martha Carrol, widow, and others of the
1st Regiment Maryland Volunteers, asking bounty,
Was reported back to the House, and,
On motion of Mr. Poteet,
It was referred to the committee of Ways and Means.
Mr. Miller, of Anne Arundel, from a Select committee,
reported favorably a bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the
Maryland Hotel company in the city of Annapolis;
Which was read the first lime.
Mr. Soper, from the committee on Ways and Means, re-
ported favorably, a bill entitled, an Act to repeal sections 2
and 11, of the 37th article of the Code of Public General
Laws entitled, "evidence," and re-enact as follows:
Which was read the first time.
Mr. McCullough, from the committee on Inspections, re-
ported favorably, a bill entitled, an Act for the inspection
and guaging of Petroleum or Coal Oil in the city of Balti-
more;
Which was read the first time.
