138 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 23,
to aid the Western Maryland Railroad by endorsing its bonds,
or by subscribing to the capital stock thereof, to an amount
not to exceed ($500, 000) five hundred thousand dollars.
On motion of Mr. Smith, of Dorchester,
Leave was granted the committee on Claims to report a bill
to pay the claims of the State's Attorney, and the Clerk of the
Circuit court of Dorchester county, for fees due from the
State.
On motion of Mr. Bartell,
Leave was granted the committee on Claims to report a bill
to refund to Win. Geo. Read certain taxes erroneously paid.
On motion of Mr. Brown,
Leave was granted the Allegany county delegation to re-
port a bill to provide for the payment of the debts against
that part the National Road running through Maryland.
On motion of Mr. Roberts,
Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to report
a bill to incorporate the city of Crumpton in Queen Ann's Co.
On motion of Mr. Darling,
Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to report
a bill to allow the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore city
to issue additional Water Stock.
On motion of Mr. Silver,
Leave was granted the Harford county delegation to report
a bill to change the name of Richard. Dodson to Richard
Steams Dodson;
Also, leave was granted the committee on the Judiciary to
report a bill to convey a lot of land in Harford county to John
Spalding, Archbishop of Baltimore, for the use of the pastor
of St. Mary's church of said county.
On motion of Mr. Poteet,
Leave was granted the committee on Claims to report a bill
appropriating a sum of money to pay certain members of
committee on Ways and Means of the House, and committee
of Finance of the Senate of Session, 1864, for services render-
ed State after adjournment.
On motion of Mr. Roberts,
Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to report
bill to incorporate a company to make a Turnpike road from
Crumpton to Long Marsh in Queen Aim's county.
