104 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 19,' The question being on the adoption of the order, Mr. Rineheart demanded the yeas and nays. The demand being sustained, the yeas and nays were called and appeared as follow:
So the question upon its adoption was decided in the nega- tive. On motion of Mr. Hynes, Ordered, That the Speaker appoint a committee of five to visit the Public Schools of the city of Baltimore, and report to this House their condition. The Speaker appointed Messrs. Hynes, Valliant, Chew, Hoffman and Silver. Mr. King submitted the following: Ordered, That five hundred copies of the Annual Report of the Maryland Penitentiary be printed for the use of the Members. Mr. Rinehart moved to amend by striking out " five hun- dred," and inserting " two hundred." |
