Which was read and referred to the committee on Corpor-
ations.
Mr. Miller, of Anne Arundel, presented a memorial from
Sprigg Harwood, in answer to the memorial of George E.
Gambrill, contesting his election of the office of Clerk to the
Circuit court, for Anne Arundel county;
Which was read and referred to the committee on Elec-
tions, and ordered to be printed.
Mr. Markey presented a petition of one hundred and eighty-
five citizens of Wederick, Montgomery and Washington
counties, praying for the passage of an Act to incorporate the
Chesapeake and Lake Erie Railroad.
Which was read and referred to the committee on Corpora-
tions.
Mr. McCauley presented a memorial from the county com-
missioners of Cecil county, and others, asking an increase of
pay to the Sheriff for board of Prisoners.
Which was read and referred to the committee on the Ju-
diciary.
Mr. Sherry presented a petition from William B. Lowder-
milk, praying to have his name changed to Willi H. Low-
dermilk,
Which was read and referred to the Allegany county
delegation.
Mr. Poteet presented a petition from Sarah Ann, Miles,
widow of the late Col. Dixon S. Miles, U. S. A., praying for
H pension from the State
Which was read and referred to the committee on Pen-
sions.
On motion of Mr. McCauley,
ordered, That two thousand copies of the Report of the
Superintendent of Public Instruction, be published for the
use of this House.

Ordered, That the Judiciary committee be allowed to hold
their sittings during the sittings of the House.
