On motion of Mr. Miller, of Washington county,
Leave was granted the Washington county delegation to
report a bill authorizing the commissioners of Washington
county to assume the county's proportion of the sum of
$30, 000, levied upon Hagerstown by the rebel Gen. McCaus-
lin, in the year 1864.
On motion of Mr. Rinehart,
Leave was granted the Frederick county delegation to re-
port. a bill giving Daniel Castle, of T., late collector of taxes
in Frederick county, Md., additional time to complete his
collections in said county.
On motion of Mr. Malone,
Leave was granted the Somerset county delegation to
report a bill to increase the Sheriff's fees in Somerset county;
On motion of Mr. Tolson,
Leave was granted the committee on the Judiciary to report
a bill to repeal Section 10, 11 and 12, of Article thirty -seven
of the Code of Public General Laws relating to the pay of
witnesses, and re-enact the same with amendments.
On motion of Mr. Foster,
Leave was granted the committee on Ways and Means
to report a bill for the appropriation of an amount of
money and other aid for the benefit of the Maryland Inebri-
ate Asylum.
On motion of Mr. Everheart,
Leave was granted the committee on the Judiciary to
report a bill to regulate and make uniforrn the compen-
sation of the county commissioners of the several counties of
tills State.
On motion of Mr. Comegys,
Leave was granted the committee on the Judiciary to
report a bill to add new sections, relating to the division of es-
tates and right of election, to the forty-seventh Article of the
Public General Laws, entitle 1, " Inheritance," and repeal a
part of the Forty-fourth Section of said Article.*
On motion of Mr. Rider,
Leave was granted Messrs. Rider, Hoffman, Soper, Clift
and Watkins, to report a bill to prohibit the opening of
Barber Saloons on the Sabbath.
On motion of Mr. Lee,
Ordered, That all matters in the Contested Elections be
printed for the use of the Members of" this House.
