Mr. Williams moved to lay the order on the table; Decided in the negative. Mr. Calvert moved to lay the order over informally; Decided in the negative. The question recurring upon the adoption of the order; It was decided in the affirmative. On motion of Mr. Valliant, Ordered, That the petition of Dr. Montgomery Johns, ask- ing certain taxes to be refunded by the State, be withdrawn from the files of the last session, and referred to the com- mittee on Claims. On motion of Mr. Tull, Leave was granted the committee on Ways and Means to report a bill to repeal sections 129 and 180 of article thirty of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to Sabbath break- ing, and re-enact the same with amendments. On motion of Mr. Mules, Leave was granted the committee on Internal Improve- ments to report a bill to amend the Act of December Session of 1823, incorporating the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal com- pany, and the several amendments and supplements thereto. On motion of Mr. Cook, Leave v, was granted the committee on Judiciary to report a hill for the adoption of what is known as the Eight-hour System. On motion of Mr. Shaw7, Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to report a bill to revive the Act of incorportion of' the town of' New Windsor in Carroll county. On motion of Mr. Poteet, Leave was granted the committee on Claims to report a bill to compensate Thomas M. Wolf and A. H. Miller, for services rendered the State. On motion of Mr. Hoffman, |
