On motion of Mr. Whitney,
Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to re-
port a bill to amend the Charter of the Springfield Mining
Company.
Mr. Turner submitted the following order:
Ordered, That the Senate on and after Wednesday the
24th, meet daily, Sundays excepted, at 11 A. M., and 4 1/2 P.M.
Determined in the negative,
On motion of Mr. Ohr,
Leave was granted the committee on Colored Population
to report a hill to repeal substitute sections 42 and 43 of the
Code of Public General Laws relating to Manumission.
On motion of Mr. Turner,
Leave was granted the committee on Corporations, to re-
port a Bill to incorporate the "Baltimore Lever Beater Press,
Company."
On motion of Mr. Turner,
Leave was granted the committee on Colored Population
to report a hill to repeal sub-section 2 of an act passed on the
second March 1861, Chapter 109, relating to the Competency
of witnesses, and to substitute a new section therefore; and 1o
repeal a part of the substitute section 42 of the Code of'Pub-
lic General Laws, passed on the eleventh of February, 1864,
chapter 105, relating to the same.
On motion of Mr. Tome,
Leave was granted the committee on Judicial Proceedings
to report a bill to amend "An act entitled, an act to amend
sections 30 and 3'2 of article 5 of the Code of Public General
Laws, entitled "Appeals," relating to the transmission of
records and the filing of Appeal Bonds.
On motion of Mr. Philpot,
Leave was granted Messrs. Philpot, Eaton and Turner,
to report a biil entitled, an Act to repeal section 19 of
chapter 146 of the Laws of eighteen hundred and sixty-
five, entitled, an Act to provide for the completion of the res-
toration oftlie records and papers destroyed or injured by fire
in the office of the clerk of the Circuit court for Baltimore
county.
Mr. Eaton submitted the following order;
Ordered, That a committee of three be appointed1 to in-
quire into the expediency of transfering the Maryland Insane
Asylum, to the Maryland Inebriate Asylum;
Determined in the negative.
