24 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 12, and as an evidence of the appreciation of his services while acting as such member, Ie it hereby, by the House of Delegates— Resolved, That in the resignation of Michal S. Showacre the House of Delegates has sustained the loss of an energetic, earnest member, and that, while hoping he may long live to enjoy the reward which his fidelity to his political principles has earned, they regret even the prosperity that impelled his resignation. .Resolved, That as a mark of esteem for Mr. Showacre, and as a token of appreciation of his services while a member of this House, a copy of these Resolutions be transmitted to him by the Clerk of this House.
The Speaker laid before the House the official report of the Comptroller of the Treasury from the fiscal year ended 30th of September, 1865; Which was read. [See Document B.] The Speaker laid before the House the report of Wm. R. Cole in reference to the distribution of the resources of Mary- . land; Which was read and ordered to be printed. [See Document C.] On motion of Mr. Poteet, It was referred to the Select committee on the Resources of Maryland, and 100 copies ordered to be printed. Mr. Jones, from the committee on Corporations, reported favorably the bills entitled, an Act to amend the charter of the Western Maryland Railroad company, So that the num- ber of Directors therein be increased, and two of such Direc- tors be citizens of Washington county; A bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Pocahantas Man- ufacturing company; |
