Mr. Soper submitted the following:
Ordered, That 10,000 copies of the message of Gov. Swann
be printed tor the use of the members or the House, 2,000 of
which to be printed in the German Language.
M;. Valliant submitted the following amendment:
Strike out 10,000 copies and insert 5,000 copies;"
Which was determined in the negative.
The question recurring on the adoption of the order sub-
mitted by Mr Soper,
it was decided in the affirmative.
Mr. Hynes presented a petition from the Trustees of:' the
Methodist Episcopal Church of Columbia street Station in
the city of .Baltimore with draft; of bill. for their benefit;
Which was read and referred to the committee on Corpora-
tion'!.
Mr. Smith, of Allegany, presented a memorial from Nelson
(J. Head, Robert McCullough and others, asking relief in cer-
tain cases;
Which was read and referred to the committee on Ways
and Means.
The Speaker submitted the memorial of Henry Jones, of
St. Mary's county, asking to be restored to the right of suf-
frage;
Which was read and referred to the select committee on
Registration.
The Speaker also submitted the memorial of Thomas A.
Spence, contesting the election of John R. Franklin, as Judge
of the twelfth judicial district;
Which was read.
Mr. Miller, of Anne Arundel, moved that the memorial be
referred to the committee on Elections,
Mr. Valliant moved that the further consideration of the
subject be postponed until to-morrow, (Friday;)
Which was decided in the negative.
Mr. Valliant moved that the memorial be referred to a
select committee;
Which was decided in the negative.
The question recurring on the motion submitted by Mr.
Miller, of Anne Arundel,
It was decided in the affirmative.
