NEGATIVE. Mr. Stephenson—1. Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates. Mr. Ohr from the committee on Internal Improvemets re- ported the bill in favour of Magnetic and American Telegraph company, with the following amendments; Amend section 2, line 15 by inserting after the word "afore- said" "and shall publish, the name of the consolidation in at least one newspaper published in the cities of New York, Philadelphia and Baltimore." Amend section 4, by adding thereto " and the service of a summons or writ on any officer, agent, or attorney of said consolidated company; shall be a service of said summons or writ on said corporation and shall hold said corporation to answer before the tribunal from whence such summons or writ may be issued;" Which were read and. adopted. The said bill was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed, for a third reading. On motion of Mr. Eaton, Was read the third time by special order, three-fourths concurring, and passed by yeas and nays as follow: AFFIRMATIVE.
The said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates, The Senate adjourned. |
