The question upon the amendment submitted by Mr. Ste- phenson was then rejected. Mr. Earle submitted the following amendment: Amend twenty-sixth line of second section, by inserting after the word "and," "one-fifth thereof to have been;" Which was read and adopted; Mr. Earle submitted the following amendment: Section 3, amend in third line by striking out after the word "may," the words, "from time to time at," and in- serting in their place, "at any time within three years from the passage of this Act in," Which was read and adopted. Mr. Earle submitted the following order: Ordered, That vhen the Senate adjourn it shall stand, adjourned till Monday next at 11 o'clock, A. M.; Determined in the negative. Mr. Stephenson submitted the following amendment; Section 6, line 4, strike out the word "From," occurring after the second "and," and insert the word "between;" Which was read and adopted. Mr. Eaton moved to adjourn; Determined in the affirmative by yeas and nays as follow:
