Mr. Stephenson submitted the following amendment:
Section 5, line 2: After the word "powers," insert "not:
repugnant to, nor inconsistant; with the laws of this State, or
the provisions of this;"
Which was read and adopted.
Mr. Stephenson submited the following amendment:
Section 5, line 12: After the word "booms," (used second
time,) insert "nor any pier, pile, fixture or fixtures;"
Which was read and adopted.
Mr. Vickers submitted, the following amendment:
Add. to 5th section, "Provided, that the said company
shall turn adrift all the wood, portions of trees, and lumber;
that may not be suitable for merchantable lumber;"
Which was read. and adopted.
Mr'. Stephenson submitted the following' amendment:
To be added to the end of the 5th section:
And provided further That .said company shall not be al-
lowed to stretch or extend any boom or booms .across the
channel lying been Point Concodl and Spaysutia Island,
known as the Swash channel, nor across the channel which
connects Swann creek with the main channel of the Chesa.-
peake bay, nor to construct and pier or} piers, pile or piles, or
any other fixture or fixtures that may interrupt or impede the
free use and navigation of' said channels; nor shall said com-
pany be allowed to construct any boom or booms, pier or piers,
pile or piles, or any other fixture or fixtures in the waters
of the. said Susquehanna river or Chesapeake bay;
Which was read.
Mr. Tome submitted the following amendment to the
amendment:
Strike out all after the words "Chesapeake bay;"
Which was read and adopted by yeas and nays as follow:
