1866.] OF THE SENATE. 161 Mr. D:ivis, of Caroline, submitted the following message: BY THE SENATE, February 1, 1866. Gentlemen of the House of Delegates: We respectfully request that you will return to us the Senate bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Merchants' Steamship Company. By Order, C. HARWOOD. Secretary. Which, was read, assented to and sent to the House of Delegates. The Seriate proceeded to the consideration of the Order of the Day, it being the bill to incorporate the Cecil and Har- ford counties' Boom Company. Mr. Eaton submitted the following amendments: Section 3, line 2; Strikeout the words "two hundred," and insert "fifty." Section 2, line 6: Strike out the words "and town of;" in line 7, the words "Port Deposite;" Which were read and determined in the negative. Mr. Stephenson submitted the following amendment: Section 2, line 7: After the words "Port Deposite," insert "and Havre de Grace;" Which, was read and adopted. Mr. Eaton submitted the following amendments: Section 2, line 10: Strike out the word "five," and insert "twenty;" Section 2, lines 16 and 17: Strikeout the word "ten," and insert "thirty," Mr. Stephenson submitted the following amendment: Section 2, line 9: Strike out the words "and Cecil county," and insert "city, and Cecil and Harford counties;" Which was read and adopted. Mr. Stephenson submitted the following amendment; Section 2, line 9: Alter the word "respectively," insert "hut no person shall be permitted to subscribe for more than fifty shares of said stock until the expiration of twenty days after the opening of said books," Which was read and adopted. 18 |
