Low, a witness produced on behalf of Claim- ant, being duly sworn, answers and says: 1st. Interrogatory: A. Thirty-one years; been a voter ten years; resided in 1865, in District No. 2. 2d. A. Did apply; took the oath, and answered all the ques- tions; no witness; no charge; on the published list my name did not appear; when they met at their last meeting, I went back and asked Mr. Pusey and Mr. Mills, (both Registers) why I was not registered as a legal voter; they said because I was in that cavalry company that was gotten up in Quantico; that was all the charges they had; I told them that I didn't see why that should disfranchize me, that the arms were furnished by the State, and the company was gotten up for the protection of the State, and before the war. 3d. A. Did not vote, because I was not registered; would have voted for Franklin. 4th. Waived. Cross-examination: Q.
