146 Adjourned to meet pursuant to notice,, at Barren Creek, January 15th, 1866,. HENRY PAGE, Clerk. JANUARY 15th, 1866. Met pursuant to notice at Barren Creek. HENRY PAGE, Clerk. Clement M. Wright, a witness of lawful age, produced by claimant, being duly sworn, answers and says: 1st, A. 47 years; been a voter 26 years; resided in 1865, in 1st district. 2nd. A. Did apply; no charge; no witness; I offered to take the oath and to answer all the questions touching my right to registration; I was not willing to answer all the ques- tions they might ask me about my private affairs, and they refused to administer the oath to me. 3d. A. I did not vote; would have voted for Franklin. 4th. A. I was talking with the registers, Mr. Jos. A. Phillips, one of the registers, being the principal talker; he told me no democrat stood any chance of being registered;, that the democratic party were determined to rule or ruin, and ho be damned if he was not for cutting them off; Mr. Holton, also a register, said he was too; Mr. Gravener, also a register, said nothing in the house.
