John S. Sudler, a witness on the part of the claimant
being duly sworn, answers and says:
1st. Where do you reside?
A. In Potato Neck District, No. II.
2d. Were .you or not examined before the Board of Regis-
tration of that district, upon the question of the right to
registration as a qualified voter of Francis M. K. Boggs? If
yea, state what was your testimony.
A. I was summoned before the Board, I didn't know what
for. I was asked if I had had any conversation with Francis
Boggs on the war? I told them I had, and we differed, but
I never heard Mr. Boggs say any thing I considered disloyal.
That was the whole of my testimony to the Board, as well as
I can remember. They were the exact words.
Cross-Examination :
1st. Did you, upon that occasion, or any other, when you
were present before the said officers of Registration, observe
anything- in their conduct which would lead you to suspect
or doubt the honesty, impartiality and fidelity of said officers
in the discharge of their official duties.
A. No, sir; I did not.
The above has been read read to me and is correct.
JOHN S. SUDLER.
Attested to and written by Henry Page, Clerk.
George W. Scott, a witness produced on behalf of claim-
ant, being duly sworn, answers and says :
1st.
A. Twenty-three years; been a voter two years; resided
in 1865 in Fourth Election District.
2d.
A. I did apply; was notified of no charge; was confronted

asked me. Mr. McCoy, one of the Registers, asked me if I
rejoiced at the downfall of Fort Sumter. Said I did not.
