A. No one but Richard D. Wallace was present and took
the oath with me.
5th. On what day did you and Richard D' Wallace' take
the oath?
A. I can't be positive, but I think it was the day before or
the clay of the first meeting day.
6th;. Who were present at the first.meeting day ?
7th Myself and Mr Wallace, Moloy was Clerk foirus on
that day , and continued to be so until McDorman resigned
his place, when Mr. McCoy got a commission in hs place
8th. When and before whom did Mr. H. C. McCey take
the oath of office as Registration officer?
A. I think Mr. William Dorman swore Mr. McCoy in
our office, in the presence or Mr. Wallace and myself.
8th. What was your course of proceeding as Registration
officers, towards those who were entered as disloyal; did you
or not give them.notice of my particular charge against
them ?
A. I gave them no notice.
9th. Do you remember whether the persons entered as dis-
loyal ,I were present, when the witnesses whose names are on
the book as testilying against them were examined?
A. They were not; they didn't ask for any trial and we
didn't give them any.
10th. Mr. William McDonnan's name appears upon the
Registration Book several times as a witness against several
persons: were you or not present., and did you or not hear
M . McDorman's testimony against any or said persons?
and if not, state why you did not hear it?
-A. I was not present, and did not hear his testimony
against any one, there were two or three persons in the house
that, we wanted to get evidence against. Mr. McCoy, asked
me if we hadn't better take Mr McDorman's evidence on
oath, I told him we had, then he asked me if I would take
those persons out of doors so that he could take Mr. McDor-
man's testimony privately; I took them. out, and that was
the reason I didn't hear what Mr. McDormans aid.
11th. Was Mr. Wallace the other Registration officer pre-
section that day ?
A. I don't think he was, I'm ;no-;i: sure lie way not.
12th. What was the question you asked witnesses about
persons in the district?
