Th. A. Spence, Contestant, ) In the matter of the contest of

J. R. Franklin, Claimant. ) R. Franklin's election.
First Interrogatory. How long have you resided in Som-
erset county ? how long have you been a voter there? where
did you reside in 1865 ?
Second. Did you or not apply for registration as a legal
and qualified voter to the officers of Registration in your dis-
trict; if not, why not ? If you did, did you or not take the
oath ? state all that occurred at the time of your applica-
tion.

Third. Did you or not vote at the election for Judge in
November last? if yea, for whom did you aid vote ? if not
for whom would you have voted if you had been permitted
to vote ?
Fourth. Do you know of any person or persons failing to
appear in consequence of anything the Registers said about
democrats being considered disloyal ? .
