to offer any other, I this day closed the examination.
With this certificate I transmit to you the certificate of
notice and the proof of service thereof, a paper writing made
part of the testimony, marked A. T. A. S., and all of the
depositions of the witnesses examined before me as stated in
this certificate.
Given under my hand and seal this twenty-fifth
[SEAL.] day of January, eighteen, hundred and sixty
six.

STATE OF MARYLAND, Somerset County, to-wit:
I, Levin Woolford, Clerk of the Circuit C:urt for Somerset
county aforesaid, hereby certify that Littleton Long, Sr.,
Esq., before whom the above certificate appears to have been
made, and whose name appears thereto signed, was at.
the time the same bears date, one of the Justices of the Peace
of the State of Maryland, in and for Somerset county afore-
said, duly commissioned and sworn.
In testimony whereof I hereunto subscribed my name
[SEAL.] and affix the seal of the said Circuit Court this.
25th day of January, 1866.

TO THE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES OF MARYLAND.
STATE OF MARYLAND, Somerset county, to wit:
I, Edward F. Duer, a Justice of the Peace of the State of
Maryland, in and for Somerset county, duly commissioned
and sworn, do hereby certify, that after application made to me
by John R. Franklin, claimant of the office of Circuit Judge of
the Twelfth Judicial Circuit of Maryland, I caused to be served
on Thomas A. Spence, contestant of the election of said Frank-
lin as such Judge, notifications (a copy of each of which with
the admission of service by said Thomas A. Spence, endorsed
thereon, marked "claimants exhibit A" and claimants exhibit
B and. C " hereunto annexed.,) requiring him. to attend at my
office, in Princess Anne, in said county, on the days and at
the places specified in said notification, to cross-examine the
witnesses therein named.
