9 PAYNE & PRITCHARD'S, FOUNDRY AND MACHINE SHOP, Corning, N. Y., May 29, 1865. W. R. COLE, ESQ., Dew" Sir:—A number of our, citizens have got their eyes turned towards Maryland. Send us 12 copies of Resources of Maryland and Catalogue of farms. Very truly yours, PAYNE & PRITCHARD. ROCHESTER, N. H., September 12, 1865. Mr. COLE, Sir;—I write to inform you that I perused your report on the Resources of Maryland, and there are quite a number in this vicinity who think of going South. A majority of them have a good opinion of Maryland, and are mostly farmers. Some mechanics also think of visiting Maryland between this and spring. I. should like a good farm of 100 or 150 acres, located near salt water, in a healthy locality. I think of coming to Maryland this winter; it I do, I. shall call on you for information. Yours, &c., C. M. DEMERITT. READING, Pa., June 15, 1865. W. R. COLE, Dear Sir:—Please send me some information concerning Maryland. If in your power I should like to have a place to settle down to follow my trade (which is a plasterer,) with the prospect of buying a piece of land to cultivate as a fruit farm, cheap land 1 mean, or some locality in which their is enter- prise enough to erect a wadding mill or wool hat factory, both branches of which I have some knowledge of—the first a full one. Yours, respectfully, H. A. H. MASON. |
