12 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 12, FRIDAY, January 12, 1866. Mr. Mackall, the Senator for Calvert county, appeared and took his seat. The President laid before the Senate the annual report of the Comptroller. [See Document B.] Referred to the Committee on Finance. On motion of Mr. Ohr, Ordered, That two thousand copies of the Comptroller's Report be printed for the use of the Senate. On motion of Mr. Billingslea, of Carroll, Leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to report a bill to incorporate the Westminster Gas Light company of Carroll county. On motion of Mr. Trail, Leave was granted the Committee on Judicial Proceedings to report a bill, entitled, an Act to regulate and make uni- form tlic compensation of county commissioners Mr. McMaster presented the petition of citizens of Worces- ter county, in favor of the Wicomico Railroad company ; Which was read and referred to the Committee on Inter- nal Improvements. On motion of Mr. McMaster, Leave was granted the Committee on Internal Improve- ments to report a bill to make an appropriation to the Wico- inico and Pocomoke Railroad company. On motion of Mr. McMaster, Leave was granted Messrs. McMaster, Earle and Trail to report a bill to incorporate the Worcester and Somerset coun- ty Railroad company. On motion of Mr. Trail, Leave was granted the Committee on Education to report a bill, entitled, "An Act to amend article—of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled, 'Public Instruction,' " and to add additional sections thereto. On motion of Mr. Ohr, Leave was granted the Committee on Finance to report a bill to provide for the better collection and disbursement of taxes in Allegany county. |
