Mr. Davis, of Washington, submitted the following mes- sage : BY THE SENATE, January 29th, 1866, Gentlemen of the House of Delegates : We respectfully ask you to return to the Senate the House bill to repeal section 1 and 2, chapter 71, passed 1864, enti- tled, "an Act to add to the 41st article of the Code of Public General Laws, in relation to fish and fisheries, relating to the waters of Potomac River, lying between the mouth of New Creek and Weaverton Dam." By order, 0. HARWOOD. Secretary. Which was read, assented to and sent to the House of De- legates. Mr. Wells, from the committee on Judicial Proceedings, reported a bill to amend the act of 1865, chapter 8, to enable Ruth and. Company of Chestertown to occupy a portion of the public land on High street; Which was read the first time. Also, reported a bill requiring the county commissioners and the Register of the city of Baltimore to report their re- spective proceedings and settle their accounts under the boun- ty acts, and to account with the Comptroller and pay over to the Treasurer the balance due by them and also to provide for unsettled claims due them; Which was read the first time. Mr. Wells, from the committee on Judicial Proceedings, to which was referred the following bills; A bill entitled, an Act to authorize J. McCauley, ex'tr of E. Galloway, late of Cecil county, deceased, to pay to S. W. Van Culin, executive officer of the Disciples Church of Phila- delphia, a legacy bequeathed to the poor of said church ; A bill entitled, an Act to repeal section 6, of Article 1, of Local Laws relating to Deer, and to re-enact the same with amendments; Reported them without amendment, and, They were read the second time. |
