my Sub Sheriff to Summon the Cort: to Swear &c and so adjorne which hath done upon his callde

Maryland Sommerset County Ss: Att a meeting of their Majesties Justices
of the Peace, at the house of Mr: Andrew Whittingtons the 5th: day of November
in the first yeare of the Reigne of William and Mary King and Queen of England
ffrance and Ireland &c. Annoge Domini 1689 . The Names of the Justices of ye
Peace then Sworne are as followeth. Coll: William: Coulbourne. Capt: David: Browne
mr: ffrancis: Jenkins. Capt. John: Winder. Capt. Robert: King. Mr. James: Dashields Mr.
James: Rounds. Mr. Samuel: Hopkins. Mr. Edmund: Howard: Mr. Stephen: Luffe. Mr.
Thomas: Jones. Mr. Roger: Wollford. not Sworne, but craved a time of ~
consideration. Mr. Thomas: Newbold did not appeare. --------------------------
--------------- The Commissioners oath as followeth. ---------------------------
You doe swear as Comissioners for this County of Somerset and Province of Maryland
to doe equall right to the poor as to the rich to the best of your cunning witt and
power according to the laws of England and Acts of Assembly you shall not ~
Comrs.Oath debarr or hinder the proscution of Justice to take any guift bribe or fee to ~
the intent of delaying of Judgment but shall behave your Selfe Justly and
truly to the best of your understanding so long as you shall persist in this ---
office and untill you shall be by lawfull authority discharged there from ---
So help you God. ------------------------------------------------------------------------
And whereas mr. William: Whittington having been delinquent in offiticating his
office of high sheriffe of this County; Therefore the abovesaid Justices have
appointed Mr: William: Brereton high Sheriffe in his stead and place.
--------- The oath of Mr: William: Brereton vis followeth . --------------------------
You shall swear as high Sheriffe of the County of Somerset to execute all process
Sheriffs ditto directed to you truly and justly, you shall not exact fees, neither debarr or ~
hinder Justice so long as you shall continue in your office. so help you God.

Roger Burkum, as Subsherriffe to ye said Brereton took ye same oath as above

Edm Beauchamp Clrke of this County the Same day presents to their Majesties Justices
of the Peace mr: John West for his Deputie and assistant wch: is approved of he the
Said Beauchamp ingageth afore the abovenamed Justices That for and in Consideratn
the said West officiating & assisting is to have the one halfe of the fees they Shall
gett Duering the time that Edmund Beauchamp aforesaid Shall remayne Clerke
of this County aforesaid / ----------------------------------------------------------------
The same day was present Coll. William Coulbourne mr. ffrancis: Jenckins. Capt.
John Winder. Mr. James: Dashields. Mr. James: Rounds: Mr. Edmund: Howard. Mr.
Mr. Thomas: Jones. Mr. Samuel: Hopkins. Capt. Robert: King.Whereas Edmund
Beauchamp Clerke of this County of Somerset Supplicated to his Maties. Justices of
the Peace for the Records and Manuscripts now in the posession of Capt: David
Browne which by an order bearing date the 13th day of August 1689 it was ordrd.
to be delivered to Capt. David Browne. Mr. William: Brereton. mr. Roger: Woolford
and mr: Stephen Luffe. and to remain in the custody and at the house of Capt. David
Browne untill further order. It is therefore ordered by the Justices aforesd
That Cap David: Browne deliver the County Records and Manuscripts to
Edmund Beauchamp Clerke of this County --------------------------------
