32. Somerset County in Maryland Ss These are to Certifie all whom it doth Concerne that Capt. William Round Comder of the Ketch Snow Hill Mercht, Built in In the Province of Maryland and new England arrived here in this County from the Island of Barbados, Sometime in June last past and did here unload and put on shore, Thirty One Barrels, four Tearces and two hogsheads of Rum, Seven barrells and two halfe barrels of Suger: Thirteen barrels and Six hogsheads of Molasses; two hogsheads of Salt, three pocketts of Cotton Wool, two Small baggs of sealeded? Ginger: and five Nigroes, and did personally make his appearance In open Court in the County aforesaid and made Oath that he Entred and Cleared the said Ketch and goods in the Island aforesaid (according to Law) and brought a Cert: for the same from under their Matiers Collector hands and Seals there, bearing date the 18th. May 1689. Which Certificate he the said Wm Round made Oath that he dd: to William: Aylward. the Navall Officer for the time th--- being. wch. said Wm Aylward refused to enter the said vessell in their Maties names and also to give the said Round a Cert: for the Clearing his Bonds wth Security, wch the Said Round gave in the Island aforesd, and likewise that the said Aylward did keep the Originall Certificate in his Custody and further sayeth not: William Round Signed by Order of the Worll. the Commrs of Somersett County in the Province of Maryland in Court Sitting this 15th. Janry. 1689/90: Sworne this day in open Court - - - - - - Attested pr John: West. Dept Clk Somerst Count Court. To the Worll. the Comrs of Somerset County now in Court Sitting the humble Petion of ffr. Thorowgood Humbly sheweth. That your Petioner being Summoned to appear at Court as an Evidence in an action depending between Ralph: Milbourne and Jacob martin, in Order whereto your Petioner came from his owne house yesterday, but being altogether a Stranger in this County, it happened that your Petioner lost his way wch rendered him incapable of presenting him Selfe before your Worships, and for his non appearance your Worships was pleased to lay a fine upon your petioner. Now your petioner presents him selfe before your Worships and humbly desires that your Worships would be pleased to remitt and take off the fine aforesaid, and your Petioner as in duty bound shall humbly pray &c. Whereupon the Court did grant the aforesaid Petion - - - - - - - To the Worll. Comrs of Somerset County the humble petion of Jane Cooper Relict of Samuel Cooper deceased humbly sheweth That whereas your petioners husband hath been dead allmost this three years and the late Comissary having for(merly) granted letters of Administration to George Layfield Esqr. with Comission to Coll. William Coulborne to Swear the said Adminstrator, and mr. ffrancis: Jenkins, and Capt. William Whittington, Apprasers of the Estate of the said decd, and the said Coulborne having not yett Called the said Admr. and apprasers before him as by the said Comission of Admrn he was required so that the Estate of the said deceased still remains unadminstred, and one of the Apprassers being a principall Creditor hath refused the same Office of Appraiser whereby your petioner is uncaple of receiving any part of her deceased husbands Estate (if any be) and the Creditors of the said deceased are still out of theire just dues, and whereas the Probatt of Wills and granting adminstration be now in your Worships, your Petioner humbly prays, your Worships either to grant a new Administration to some person whom your Worships shall think fitt, or to appoint new appraisers to the former letters of Admrn and your Petioner as in duty bound shall ever pray.
