(167) To the Worll. Justices of Somerset County now in Court sitting ---- The humble Petition of Hannah: Holland / humbly sheweth that your Petitioner is the daughter of Dennis: Holland Servant to Coll. William Coulborne and in Court disposed of by her Mother to John: Kirk. but since hath been disposed of unto Walter Lane, your petitioner Supposing her selfe free to be of age, desired of her Master for to goe and search the Records which was denyed your Petioner Craves your worps Order, that the Records may be searched before that the Court be ended, that your Petioner may know where to she may trust. And in duty bound shall pray. Upon wch Petion ye Court Ordered the Clk to Search the Records. which is performed To their Majesties Justices of Somerset County August 14th. 90. The petion of Wm: Richardson humbly sheweth That whereas your Petioner humbly moved this Court in June last that mr Richard Harris might not by his Attorney Convey any of his land, for as much as that he had fraudulently made sale of all his land and the rest of his Estate, and hath not made good the Estates of ye Petioners Sisters which in honesty he ought to have done which the Court was pleased to Order that no land should be alienated till this Court and that John:Barker might have notice to appear being the person that hath made the purchase, the said Barker hath had notice to appear but doth refuse your Petioner humbly craves that your worps will please to Order that the sd Harris=s Attorney should not alienate any of sd Harris s land untill the Orphants have their Estate made good to them And your Petioner shall ever pray. Upon which Petion being Considered it is Ordered by the Court that Richard: Harris, alienate or Convey no Land by him Selfe or Attorney, till November Court following - - - - - - - - To the worll. Justices of their Maties Peace for this County of Somerset. The Petion of George Latcham humbly sheweth - - - - - - - - That whereas your worps petioner hath attended the worll Court as a ~ Evidence for Lawrence Crawford plt in a suit depending in your worll. Court agt Jonathan. Towers deft. your Peteioner Craves your worps Order. for Charges having attended eleven dayes, and yr Petioner as in duty bound shall ever pray &c. Petion Read & granted / Order for yr same . - - - - - - - Ordr. Sent per. mr Perrie Mr. Thomas: Jones: Plt Issue joynd: Declaraion Read. - - - - - - - - - - - - - agt. The said Simon in the presents of Wm: Venable did importunely Simon: Perkins Junior. Dft desire the use or to hire the said Thoms his Boat sails & Oars the - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Said Thomas replyed that he was then bound over to St. Maryes about his own business of great importance, and withall to give mr Jno. Addison And his Wife and Sonn a passage over to St. George River, but to doe the sd Simon a kindness he would that is the sd Thomas would omit his own business, and lett the sd Simon have have the Boat into his care and Charge over the Bay, and as soon as the said Addison was landed, And from that time he the sd Simon should pay hire for sd Boat, for every two dayes of the sd Boat, One dayes worke of Wm: Venable toward triming the sd Thomas his sloop to which agreement the sd Simon did freely condescend and agree to - -- dayes after the sd Addison his Wife and Sonn was put a shore, & after their putting a Shore, the sd Simon out the sd boat eighteen dayes time, went from St.Maryes to wiccomicoe from thence to St. Maryes again, contrary to either Order or knowledge of sd Thomas. Now so it is that although the sdC Simon, did --- detein and keep the said boat 18.dayes aforesd, contrary as aforesd hath and still doth deny any satisfaction for the same although often thereunto required to the damage of six hundred pounds of tobacco and (there-) upon brings his suit pr Quer.
