(155) Maryland Somerset County Ssc. ffrancis: Jenkins and Edmund: Howard Gent. two of their. Maties. Justices of the Peace within the sd Somerset County to the Sheriffe of the said County or his deputy there greeting, whereas George Seaward a Sturdy vargrant fellow of Non Residence within this County being of ill name and fame was this fourth day of August ano. Dom. 1690 brought before us and Charged as well with his lewd Course of living & Carrying away Anne the Wife of Wm: Woodland as also his contemning of their Maties Authority togeather wth. divers other misdemeanours as beating and abuseing his Sister in Law a Widdow and imbezleing of her Estate as by sundry proofs made out, some of which unlawfull acts were proved to be acted and done upon a Sabbath day &c. These are therefore to will and Require ye to receive the sd George Seaward and him Saifly keep untill he put in good and Suffitient Surities for his good behaviour or abearing as also to answer to Such matters as shall be objected agt him at the next Court to be holden for this County the second tuesday of this July as well in the behalfe of their Maties as on the part of the Widdow &c. And that at the sd Court you have the said George Seaward there togeather with this our warrt, and hereof in their Maties Names you are not to fail as you will answer the Contempt at yr peril &c. dated the day and year above sd To the high Sheriffe of Somerset ffra: Jenckins County or his Deputy. These:} By us. Edmund: Howard } - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Somerset County Maryland. Know all men by these presents that wee George Seaward of Pocomoke in the County aforesd, John: Ellis of Morumsco in the sd County Planter, and Richard Aldridge at the deviding Creek Brick Layer, are held and firmly bound unto their Maties in the full and just Sum of One hundred pounds Sterling money of England, to the true payment there of well and truly to be made to their Maties or Successors, wee bind our Selves and either and every of them, our and every of our Heirs, Execcutors and Admrs, joyntly & Severally for the whole and in the whole firmly by these presents, Sealed with our Seals dated this Sixth day of August 1690 The Condition of this Obligation is Such that if the above bound George Seaward shall make his personall appearance at the next Court held for this County being the second tuesday of this present Instant August and there answer unto what shall be objected on the behalfe of their Maties and the widdow agt him, as also in the mean time be of the good abearing, Then this Obligation to be void and of none effect or otherwise. to remain & abide in full Strength and vertue.
