(152) August 12th. 1690 To the worll Comissioners of Somerset County, the humble Petion of Thomas Walston - - - - - - sheweth That whereas your Petioner sold unto Samuel. Cooper when living one Stear for six hundred pounds of tobacco, Now the sd Cooper being deceased, and your Petionr not in any wise satisfied or paid for the same, either in whole or part, in respect that mr ffrancis: Jenkins Gent hath Administred unto the Estate of the sd Cooper , your humble Petioner craveth the asistance of this worll. bench that he may be reimburst of the aforesd 600lb. of Tobacco as being his lawfull due, which your petioner is ready and able to prove Suffitiently if thereunto required and for the same as in all duty bound shall ever pray Samuel: Cooper Dr. to Thomas Walston To one stear for his funerall at 600lb. tobacco, as can be proved if yr worps. do require Petion not granted Each Constable of their respective hundreds this day brought into Court their Several Lists of Taxable persons, except John: Waltam of Pocomoke hundred. The humble Petion of ffrancis: Alexander, to their Maties. Justices for ye County of Somerset Sheweth That whereas your petioner was arested to appear at this Court to answere Such objections as John Slitt his Apprentice hath to lay against him, hath accordinly appeared, and brought the sd Slitt with him, therefore your petioner humbly craveth a hearing of you Right worshipfull and your petioner shall ever pray. No Result to this petion was given. August. 13th=1690 Comissioners Present in Court were Coll.. David Browne. mr. ffrancis. Jenkins. Capt. John: Winder mr. James: Dasheels. mr. Thomas: Newbold. mr. Samuel: Hopkins. mr.. Edmund Howard: mr. Thomas: Jones. mr. George: Layfield. Roger Burkam and William: Goldsmith brings into Court One Edward: William, suspected to have been a Runaway, and therefore the Court Ordered the sd Ed: William, to give Security for his appearance next Court, and to pay all fees due. And thereupon came John: Kellam and entered into Recognizance of 5,, the sd Edward in 10,. to performe as above The Condition of which is Such that if the above bound Edward William, doe make his personall appearance at our County Court to be holden the second tuesday in September next then & their to answer what shall be objected agt him by their Maties. Justices of the peace, and also to pay all fees due then ye Recognizance voyd and of none effect, Otherwayes to be & remain in full force & vertue. - - - - Their Maties Daniel: Maglahan being bound over to Court, makes his appearance agt. Capt. John: Winder being bound for the sd Maglahans appearance and behavior Daniel:Maglahan desires to be dismist from the sd Bond which was granted, and further Ordered yt the sd Maglahan give new Security for his good behaviour & Court Charges. And whereupon came John: Parramore & John: Gosling, and did confess themselves to be indebted unto their Maties in 10, pr man Maglahan in 20,. Sterling to be levyed on their goods and Chattels for their Maties uses &c. the Condition of which recognizance is Such that if y sd Maglahan be of the good behaviour & abearance to all their Maties. Subjects as also pay Court Charges then this Recog. voyd otherwayes to remain in full force & vertue. |
