James: Barry. Defdt. - - -

Somerset County Ss: Jame Barry Tanner late of this County was attached
To answer unto Andrew: Whittington Innholder in an Action of trespass on ye Case &c.
And whereupon the Plt. by his Attorney Thomas: Poole comes and sayeth that he the
said James in the yeare of our Lord became indebt unto the Plt. the just quantity
of eight hides of Leather as pr accompt here in Court produced the which accompt
he the said James did assume upon himselfe and faithfully promise to pay unto
the Plt. upon demand but he the said James fraudulently intending the plt. to deseive
of the aforesaid Leather, doth deny and still doth deny to pay the same although
often thereunto required by the Plt. whereupon the Plt. sayth he is damnified and
hath damage to the value of 16. of the like hides and thereupon brings this suite &c.
