The sd White made choice of mr. C (113) - George Layfield for his Guardian
The foregoing Petion being read, by the Court is granted, and Order given that mr George Layfield
be guardian to the sd White, and that sd Guardian take into his Custody the Estate of the sd William
White, now in the posession of mr. Lawrence Crawford - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

To the Worll. Comrs of Somersett County Court the humble Petion of Walter Lane humbly sheweth -----
That Whereas your Petioner was left one of the Executers of the last Will and Testament
of Josias Seward late of this County deceased desires tht the sd Will may be proved and Adm=
=istration of the goods and Chattells of the deceased granted to your Petionr and your Petioner
as in duty bound shall pray. ------------- Petion Read. the Will proved and letters of
Administration Orderd to be granted - - - - - - - - - - - -

Appraisers appointed by the Court are mr. Thomas: Newbold and mr. Edmund Howard. - - - -
mr. George Layfield appointed to Sweare the sd Appraisers of sd Sewards Estate, - - - -


To their Maties Comrs for the County of Somerset in Court sitting The humble Petion of John Tarr humbly sheweth
That Thomas Prophett deceased left a considerable Estate, and Orphant Child behind him, which
sd Estate and Orphant is now in the Custody of John: Jones your Petioner humbly Craves that the
Said Jones may give Security to this Worll Court for the same according to Law in such cases required
and your petioner shall as in duty bound pray &c. Petion Read
Order John: Jones be sumoned to next Court to answer the foresd Complaint - - - -

Somersett County in Maryland Ss ----- Memorandum that this day (to witt) the second day of June, Came Sarah
Crawford
and made Oath upon the holy Evangelists, that in the matter of difference, between Jonathan Towers and
George Layfield, for which is summoned to the County Court to be held the second tuesday in June next,
saith that she heard Elizabeth the Wife of George Layfield about -----------rs since discoursing highly
with the said Towers, but what there discouse was she cannot tell (and further) sayth not
Sworne the day abovesd before me David: Browne. Sarah: Crawford
To the Worll. their Maties. Justices for Somerset County - The Petion of Sarah the Wife of Lawrence Crawford
Humbly sheweth - That whereas your Petioner was Sumoned personally to appeare before your Worships to
Evidence in one Cause depending in Court between George Layfield Esqr, and Jonathan. Towers. yor Worps -
Petioner in Order to the yielding obedience to the said Sumons had made my Selfe ready and was come some
Small way in my journey but yr Petioner being taken so sick, and not well, was necessitate to retourne home
your Worhips Petioner Craves your Worships excuse & your Petioner as in duty bound shall ever pray


Martha Servant. & Servant to Michael: Williams bound to good behaviour for a twelve month and a day
And whereupon came ffurby Rugg, and Thomas Roe and bound them Selves with the sd Martha in tenn
pounds a peece. the Condition of which Recognizance is Such that if the sd Martha be of the good behaviour
and abearance to all their Maties liege people of this Province for one twelve month and a day that then that
Recog.

Robert. Stott Somersett County. The humble petion of Robert Stott to the Worll. their Maties. Justices of the peace
agt for Somerset County now sitting in Court Sheweth that your Petioner hath served John: Starrett the
John: Starret full terme or time of five years so that your Petioner hath demanded his freedom of his sd Master
pr John: Starrett, which the sd Starrett doth Deny so that yr Petioner humbly Craves yr Worps. Order for
freedom
Petion joyns according to Custom of your County Petioner as in duty shall ever pray &c. - - - - - -
