And agt ye Publick peace, and Craves judgmt may be entered agt the sd Mulkah and King according to law in
that Case made and provided &c. James Sangster. Clk Indtmts. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The Indictmt being twice Read before the prisoners at the Barr who pleads not guilty, and fore
their tryall putts them selves upon the Country viz a Jury whose names are as followeth viz Capt.
William: Coulborne: John: Vigerous Simon Perkins Junior. Richard Tull. Richard: Hill. William
Bowen, Edward: Harper. Cornelius: Ward, Robert: Catling, Samuel: Shewell. John: Carter Adam
Hitch
who being duely impannelled and sworne having heard the whole matter, goes forth and upon
their/
retourne doe bring this following verdict. (viz) Wee the Jury doe find the defendts not guilty of
the
Indictment. William: Coulborne. foreman. ------ which sd verdict the Court Ordered to be
entered and that the sd King and Mulkah pay Court Charges. ----- Henry: Hayman:& Jno: ffrizell
sworn


Order The sheriffe impannel. a Grand Jury of sixteen men at the least.

Their Maties Somersett County Ssc. Peter Bodkin of this County Mercht. was Sumoned to answer what should
be objected
agt. agt him in behalfe of their Maties &c. === And whereas the sd Peter hath most wickedly sinfully
Peter. Bodkin and shamefully Comitted fornication with Mary Berry of this County Spinster, and upon her body
begotten
a Basterd Child, to the great dishonour of Allmighty God scandall and evill example of their Maties
good
people, and agt the good Laws and institutions of this Province, Their Maties Attorney craves
judgmt
may be entred agt the sd Peter according to law in that Case made and provided &c.

Indictmt
The sd Bodkin appears in persona, but no Evidence the Court dismist the sd Bodkin he paying Court
Charges as Order


William Richardson being Sumoned to Court to answer what should be Objected agt him by their
Maties. &c.
the sd Richardson appearing but no Evidence, the matter was quast.


To the Worll. Comrs of Somersett County now sitting, the humble Petion of Randall Revell humbly sheweth;, that
whereas your
Petioner was Sumoned to tend the Court as a Jury man by the Sheriffe, your Petioner appearing in Obedience to
his Sumons
but one of his Children being visited by the hand of the Allmighty with sickness, your petioner made his Case
knowne
the Sheriffe who promised to informe the Court, but the sherriffe being absent when your petioner was calld, your
petioner
as informed was fined by the Court, for which your petioner humbly craves to be remitted of his fine, and your
Petioner
as in duty bound shall pray.
The Petion being read, was by the Court considered, and the abovesd fine Remitted. //


Alexander Thomas his fine remitted for not tending as Jury man in Janry Court being legally Sumoned
Walter Lane=s fine Remitted. being Sumoned as to appear last Court. - - - - - - - - - - -
an Evidence agt Ninion Delap.

James: Minor was fined for not appearing when called, as an evidence aft Matthew: Scarbrough & his fine
remitted

Their Maties The Jurors for their Maties at a Grand Jury held for the body of this County in March last past
being
agt. Sworne upon the holy Evangelists doe present and find, that Elizabeth: Maccall of this County
Spinster
Eliz: Maccall not having the fear of God before her eyes. nor any regard to his sacred and holy laws but
instigated
by the divill hath most wickedly sinfully and shamefully Comitted fornication and borne a
Basterd
Child notwithstanding of the many favours formerly shewed her for her former transgressions of this kind but
doth therein contemptuously persist in her wickedness, to the great scandall and evill example of their Maties good
people
of this Province and agt the statute in that Case made and provided, their Maties. Attorney craves judgment may be
entered
agt the sd Elizabeth. James: Sangster. Clk. Indtmts. -

To which Indtmt the sd Maccall pleads guilty and for her tryall referrs to Court, saying that John
Goldsmith Junior is the ffather of her Basterd Child. Order that the sd Goldsmith appear next Court
and that sd
Eliz have twenty five lashes well laid on upon her bare back for her offence comitted wch was by the
Sheriffe executed, Order Eliz. to prosecute Goldsmith next Court and Eliz. to pay Court Charges ---
