---------------- William: Pattent of this County: Taylor. saying affirming and his wished intent wth a loud
voyce
declaring that it was no more sin to kill the sd Pattent then it was to kill a dogg not
regarding
that due respect by the law of God he ought and should give to Magistracy but in despite of their power
& authority
in it by law invested by perticularizing the sd Capt David Browne in the name of the whole did tacitly
imply
his contempt to the sd power Their Maties Attorney Craves judgmt may be entered agt the sd

The Indtmt being Read The sd Scarbrough Referrs him Selfe to the judgmt of the Court.
who having heard the Evidences Sworne and examined doe give their opinion that the sd

and Said Scarbrough to find Security for his good behaviour till next Court And thereupon
John: Barrow Came Henry: Lynch and John: West and did confess them Selves to be indebted unto their Matiesa
sworne in 5,. pr man, Scarbrough in 10, sterling money to levied upon their goods and Chattels for their

agt Maties. use &c The Condicon of which Recognizance is such that if the abovesd Matt: Scarbrough
Scarbrough be of the good behaviour to all their Maties. leige people of this Province from the day of the date
till the second tuesday in August then this Recog. to be voyd and of none effect otherwayes to be
and remain in full power force and vertue.

Their Maties --. Somersett County Ssc. The Jurers for their Maties being sworne upon the holy
Evangelists
agt at at grand Jury held for the body of this County doe present and find that Susannah
Westerman
Susannah. Wisterman Woman Servant to mr. Willmott Hill of this County hath must wickedly sinfully
and
- - - - - - - - - - - samefully comitted fornication and borne a Basterd Child, to the great dishonour
of God
scandall and evill example to all the good people of this Province, and in
contempt of
the good Laws and Institutions thereof, wherefore their Maties. Attorney Craves judgmt may be entered agt the said

The above sd Indtmt being read the sd Susannah pleads guilty and for tryall referrs herselfe to
Court
upon her examination she confesseth that Thomas: Nicholls is the ffather of her Child, which sd
Child is
dead and the sd Nicholls fled. --------------- The Court having considered the premises, and upon
the submission and penitence of the sd Susannah, doth remitt corporall punishment and accept a
fine
And therefore the Court Orders the sd Susannah to give Security for twenty dayes work and dyet to be pd the
Court
when demanded, as also to pay Court fees, And thereupon came mrs. Willmott: Hill, and did Oblige her Selfe to
Court to
pay the same
Somersett County in Maryland - To their Maties. Worll. Justices of the Peace for
this County the petion of Willmott Hill humbly Sheweth.
That Susannah: Westerman your Petioners Servant having been arrested to Court for Basterdy Bearing,
your Petionrs
hath susteined great losse of time by her coming here, your humble Petioner craves your Worships judgmt
therein
and your Petioner as dutifull will ever pray. &c.
The Petion being read the premisses considered the Court Orders that Susannah Westerman,
Serve the
sd Willmott Hill twelve monthes, it being for loss of time and house trouble, besides fees and fine.

Their Matie Somersett County Ssc. Whereas John:ffrizell of this County Planter was in November Court
last past
agt. presented by the grand Jury for the body of this County for stealing a hempne Roap of about
four
Cornelius: Mulkah & or five fathom long off of the head of Heanry: Haymans Mare and to the sd Hayman
belonging and
Hough: King. - upon examination and tryall was convict in January Coart last past, and then and their did
attaint
Cornelius: Mulkah and Hugh: King for the said ffellony as accessaries, Confederates, aiders and abetters of the sd
ffrizell
Now their Maties. Attorney comes and sayes that the sd Mulkah and King are guilty in stealing the sd Roap aiding &
abetting
the sd ffrizell in the sd ffellony and concealing of the same, Contrary to the good Laws and institutions of this
Province -
