Itt is likewise further Ordered that the sd Sarah: Ward, Serve the sd mr. John: King two years after her
indented time is expired for the trouble of keeping her Basterd Child from this time till the full time of all
her Servitude then she and her child be free. - - - - - The sd Sarahs Indtmt. read she confessed to
be guilty and offered to Court to make Oath that the sd Joseph Cotler was the ffather of her Child -----

Order two Jury men be impannelled in place of mr. Lawrence Crawford, and mr. William: Turvill and they
both fined for contempt, not tending Court when duely Summoned. ----- The sd Crawford appearing
with reasons approved of, the Court remitted his fine. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

To the Worll. Court of Somersett County the Petion of Stephen Page, prayes ----- That whereas your petioner
having presented to this Court a Servant Woman for having a Basterd Child, your Petioner prays you would Ordr.
him allowance for loss of time and expences agt sd servant, and as in duty bound shall pray &c. - - - - -
which petion was granted as appreares folio 102: wch Order there upon. - - - - - - - - - - -

To the Worll. Comrs of Somersett County Court, the humble Petion of Lawrence Crawford sheweth. ---
That your Petioner being Summoned as a Jury man, and having busness with Severall persons did not apear
when called, whereupon your Petioner was fined. Your Petioner humbly prayes you would be pleased to remitt
the sd fine, and your Petioner as in duty bound shall pray &c granted as above . - - - - - - - - - - -

Their Maties Somersett County Ss William Innis of this County was attached to answer what shall
agt. be objected agt him in their Maties. behalfe. - - - - And whereas their Maties Attorney
William: Innis Comes and sayed that the sd William: Innis being Constable of Boquetoenorton hundred
being by duty bound to attend the grand Jury held for this County in Novembr. and
March last
past, his said Office of Constable for the abovesd hundred did wilfully neglect &
obstinately
him Selfe withdraw from his bounden duty to the detriment of their Maties Interest, breach
of the Laws, therefore craves judgmt. agt the sd Wm: Innis according to law &c.
The Indictment being Read the sd Innis pleads not guilty James: Sangster Clk. Indtmt-
and for tryall referrs himselfe to Court C ---
who having considered ye premisses do Order the sd Deft. Innis to be fined five hundred pounds of tobacco


Their Maties Somersett County the Jurors for their Maties being sworne upon the holy
Evangelists
agt. at a grand Jury held for the body of this County the second tuesday in March
last doe
Matthew Scarbrough present and find that Matthew: Scarbrough of this County Gent att Snow hill in
Boga=
toe norton hundred and within the jurisdiction of this Court, most proudly
arrogantly
and contemptuously and malitiously utter publish, and with a loud voyce did
declare
his contemptuous malitious and seditious mind agt their Maties authority now in -
being in these words that mr. Samuel: Hopkins had granted a warrant to the Constable to sumon none to theese
Brayesses but Scotch Irish men. which was a great abuse to your Maties Comrs for this County yr fore yr Maties
attorney craves judgmt agt the sd Scarbrough according to Law, James: Sangster. Clk. Indts.
The abovesd Indtmt was produced in Court but not read, a litle while debated between ye Court &
Scarbrough. and the matter Quasht. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Their Maties Somersett County Ssc. The Jurors for the Maties being sworne upon the holy Evangelists at a grd
agt. Jury held for the body of this County March Court last past doe present and find yt.

Matt. Scarbrough Scarbrough of this County at the house of James Minor in the hundred of Bogetenorton
Ano. 89. his Maties peace then and their did not keep, but their Maties. Comrs did abuse

Contemne, Calling Capt David Browne Rogue & Dogg, and in an oppirous manner
(stiled?)
him the scotch Irish mens God, and upon the matter aforesd did beat and wound
