10 The same day. Theire Maties Honll Justices of the Peace, being made sensible of the necessity of a bridge to be made over the wadeing place at the head of Monokin River, haveing taken into theire deliberate consideration the want thereof. Have therefore Ordered that Capt. David: Browne. Mr. Roger: Woolford and Mr. Stephen Luffe. doe employ and Order workmen to build a Bridge over the aforesaid Wadeing place Such a Bridge as they as they shall thinke convenient for the County=s service the worke men to be paid out of the County=s Leavy. -------------------------------------------- The same day - - - - - - - - - It was Ordered by theire Maties. Justices of the Peace that Mr James: Rounds And Mr. Samuel: Hopkins doe employ workemen to amend the great Bridge at Nauseaunga being at the head of Pocomoke River the said workmen to be paid out of the County=s Leavy according to Agreement made by the afore- said Rounds and Hopkins. - ----------------------------------------------------------- The same day. Came William Bradshaw and Petitioned the honble. Court that he might have ye keeping of the ferry Boat at Pocomoke, which formerly belonged to Jno. Henderson which was granted upon condition that Henderson denyed, would not keep it any longer, and that likewise the said Bradshaw would keep a good Causey to ye landing for which Causey. James: Sangster because security and Mr. Peter Dent did affirme at that time, that he heard John: Henderson say that he would not keep the fferry any longer. ------------------------------------------------------------------ The same day. Came Alexander Thomas. and upon complaint made to the Worshipfull Court that Thomas: Coleman fferry man of Wiccocomocoe, that he had absented himselfe and utterly forsaken the fferry, and gone away in ye said Alex: Thomas=s debt. and that he the said Alexander had employed A man twenty dayes to Officiate in Colemans stead and place. and therefore humbly petioned for an Order for his debt. and the said Alexander likewise Petioned that he might - have the keeping of the aforesaid fferry which fferry was granted him upon security given by Mr. Hust. ------------------------------------------------ The same day the Court Ordered that Alexander Thomas should have allowed upon the fferry accompt three thousands pounds of Tobacco due to him and Coleman. The same day this following Petion. was proferred to the Worll Court. To his Maties Justices of the Pease. for ye County of Somerset = The humble Peticon of John Trupshaw sheweth: - That your Petionor hath by ye providence of God attained to y age of sixty three years and now is fallen very lame in his (legs) as also reduced to a very low condition and therefore humbly prayes that your Worll may take into your serious consideration ye dissabillity of you Petitionr and likewise please to order That duering yy residue of ye Petioners life it may be Tax free. and he will as in duty bound pray &t Not granted. ----------------------------------- |
