    The bill to revive and continue the acts of assembly therein mentioned was read the second time
and passed.
    On motion, the question was put, That the house reconsider the report on the petition of Dennis
Griffith?  Resolved in the affirmative.

The house adjourns till to-morrow morning 9 o'clock.

T    H    U    R    S    D    A    Y,    December 29, 1796.

    THE house met.  Present the same members as on yesterday.  The proceedings on yesterday
were read.
    The resolution relative to the bank stock, the bill to revive and continue the acts of assembly
therein mentioned, the additional supplement to an act, entitled, An act for relief of the poor of
Calvert county, the bill to incorporate a company for building a bridge over Jones's Falls, in Baltimore-town,
the supplement to an act, entitled, An act to incorporate an insurance company in
Baltimore-town, the bill to empower John Erskine and John Thomas, administrators of Richard
Johns, to collect the balances due him as sheriff and collector of Talbot county, the resolution in
favour of Charles Mankin, and the supplement to the act, entitled, An act for erecting a public
school in Frederick county, were sent to the senate by the clerk.
    The clerk of the senate delivers the bill to prevent hogs going at large at George-town Cross
Roads, in Kent county, the further supplement to an act to establish a market at the market-house
in Chester-town in Kent county, and for the regulation of said market, the bill to empower
the levy court of Anne-Arundel county to assess a sum of money for the purpose therein mentioned,
the bill to empower the levy court of Harford county to assess and levy a sum of money for
the purpose therein mentioned, the bill to authorise a lottery in George-town, in the territory of
Columbia, the bill to record Peters, Deakins, Beatty and Threlkeld's addition to George-town, in
Montgomery county, the bill authorising commissioners to survey, mark and bound, certain streets
in Beatty and Hawkins addition to George-town, in Montgomery county, and for other purposes
therein mentioned, severally endorsed; " By the senate, December 27, 1796:  Read the first time
" and ordered to lie on the table.

The bill for building a record-office, and securing and transcribing certain records and papers, in
Baltimore county, and rebuilding two bridges over Jones's Falls, in Baltimore-town, in said county,
endorsed; " By the senate, December 28, 1796:  Read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.

    Ordered to be engrossed.
The resolution in favour of George Wallace, endorsed; " By the senate, December 27, 1796:

The resolution respecting shares in the bank of Baltimore, endorsed; " By the senate, December

The bill to erect Baltimore-town, in Baltimore county, into a city, and to incorporate the inhabitants
thereof, endorsed; " By the senate, December 26, 1796:  Read the first time and ordered
" to lie on the table.

" By the senate, December 28, 1796:  Read the second time and will pass with the proposed amendments.

    Amendments proposed.  In the 4th line of the 3d page, after the word "appointment" insert
" and assessed on the books of the assessors to the amount of one thousand dollars."  In the 2d line
from the bottom of the 4th page, in the interlineation, after the word "and" insert " of the."  In
the 5th line from the bottom of the 5th page, after the word "of" insert the word "the."  In the
interlineation of the same line, after the word "the" insert " of the."  In the 6th line of clause A
strike out the words " an inhabitant of the ward for the which he shall be chosen," and insert " assessed
on the books of the assessors to the amount of two thousand dollars."  In the 9th line of the 6th
page strike out the word "up" to the word "by" in the 10th line.  Strike out the proviso
contained between the 4th and 5th lines from the bottom of the 11th page.  In the 8th line of the
14th page strike out the words " appeal or."
    Mr. Nicholson, from the committee, brings in and delivers to the speaker the following report:

    YOUR committee beg leave to state, that a claim hath been laid before them by Robert Long,
of Baltimore-town, for compensation for the support of negro Daniel, who, it is stated, is the property
