Spouses of delegates are invited and the
Convention staff is invited; also the work-
ing press. Please get your money in as soon
as possible if it is approved here today.
The Committee would also like publicly
to thank Delegate Rush for his suggestions
and efforts in this committee and also would
like especially to thank Delegate Sosnowski
for his special help in obtaining the Port
Welcome.
We would also like to thank the Port
Authority for their generosity in making
the boat available because $5 covers the
entire thing.
I will have tickets printed upon the
adoption of the idea by the people of the
Convention. I think we are going to make
it mandatory that you display these tickets
when you board the ship.
Any donations from delegates with re-
spect to food or beverages, perhaps oysters
from the Eastern Shore Delegation, we will
be glad to accept.
I am trying to plan a formal affair with
a dance. Some of you suggested this. We
are still in the process of working on this
particular aspect. Thank you, Mr. President.
THE PRESIDENT: Mr. Vecera, would
you restate the date and hours and place.
DELEGATE VECERA: The date is Oc-
tober 17, 3:00 P.M., immediately after the
adjournment of our session here. The trip
will take approximately six hours. I am
still working this out with Mrs. Johns. It
will dock back here in Annapolis. Our
spouses can meet us here or go aboard ship
while we are working in the Convention.
THE PRESIDENT: We leave at the
dock down near the Yacht Club in Annapolis.
DELEGATE VECERA: Yes, Mr. Presi-
dent, and will return here.
THE PRESIDENT: I take it no formal
action with respect to this report is neces-
sary. In the absence of objection, I will
accept the report and consider it approved.
It is so ordered.
Are there any further announcements by
committee chairmen? Delegate Morgan?
DELEGATE MORGAN: Mr. President,
the Committee on the Executive Branch is
going to meet right after this session here
today to hear from the State's Attorney of
Prince George's County. Tomorrow morning
in the Senate Chamber across the hall we
will hear from Governor Agnew. Then on
Wednesday, starting at 9:30 A.M., we will
hear during the course of the day from
most of the state's attorneys throughout
the State. We designated that as State's
Attorneys Day.
On the following day, namely, Thursday,
at 11:00 A.M., we will hear from former
Governor Driscoll of New Jersey.
THE PRESIDENT: Delegate Mudd.
DELEGATE MUDD: Mr. President, the
Committee on the Judicial Branch resumes
its hearings tomorrow morning at 10:00
A.M. at which time we have the pleasure
of hearing from Judge Shearin of Mont-
gomery County. At 11:00 A.M. we have
Mr. Glenn R. Winters, of the American
Judicature Society to appear before our
committee and at noon Honorable James A.
Wise, State's Attorney for Caroline County.

THE PRESIDENT: Are there any fur-
ther announcements? Delegate Kiefer.
DELEGATE KIEFER: Mr. President,
the Committee on Personal Rights and the
Preamble will meet immediately after this
meeting at 7:30 P.M. this evening, there
will be a public hearing in the basement of
the Shaw House on due process, equal pro-
tection and the rights of the poor to which
everyone is invited. The following people
will speak for themselves or for specific
groups. Brian Glick, Esquire, Acting Direc-
tor for Center for Social Welfare Law,
Columbia University Law School, New
York City. Parren Mitchell, Director of
Community Action Agency of Baltimore,
Walter Lively, Director of U.J.O.I.N., Dan-
iel Gant, Director of Target City, C.O.R.E.,
Walter W. Black, State Director of
Branches, Maryland N.A.A.C.P., Commu-
nity Action Agency-Neighborhood residents,
and George Washington Williams.
THE PRESIDENT: Delegate Scanlan.
DELEGATE SCANLAN: Committee on
Rules will meet at noon tomorrow to con-
sider Resolution No. 1I and I invite the
sponsor of the resolution to appear before
the Committee as the Committee intends to
take action on it tomorrow.
At the conclusion of the session tomor-
row, we will have an open public hearing
on the proposed convention budget which
hearing also will embrace Resolution No.
13 proposed by Delegate Malkus.
