matters pertaining to civil juries as well
as other aspects of criminal juries. Any-
body who is interested is invited to attend.
THE PRESIDENT: Delegate Sherbow?
DELEGATE SHERBOW: Mr. President,
the Committee on State Finance and Tax-
ation will meet promptly after this session
adjourns, and tomorrow at 10:00 A.M. and
continuing thereafter, we will be hearing
from state fiscal officers, whose names have
been posted.
THE PRESIDENT: Delegate Morgan?
DELEGATE MORGAN: The Committee
on the Executive Branch will meet immedi-
ately following the adjournment of this
general session to continue its hearings. Our
first witness will be Mr. William Coleman
of the Commission on Intergovernmental
Relations.
THE PRESIDENT: Delegate Moser?
DELEGATE MOSER: Mr. President,
the Committee on Local Government will
meet tomorrow morning at 9:15 A.M. At
that time we will be honored by the pres-
ence of Mayor McKeldin and President of
the City Council, Tommy D'Alesandro of
Baltimore City. Discussion tomorrow will
include the grant to the local government
of the State's residual powers; limitations
on designation of public local laws and
classification system. Mr. William Marbury,
who is a representative of Baltimore City
and Janet Hoffman, and Mrs. Margaret
Kostritsky will also be appearing before the
committee at that time. Mr. Marbury, who
is special counsel for representatives of
Baltimore City, will be chief spokesman.
THE PRESIDENT: Are there any other
announcements? Delegate Gallagher?
DELEGATE GALLAGHER: Mr. Presi-
dent, ladies and gentlemen, the Committee
on the Legislative Branch will hear from
majority leader, State Senator Harry
Hughes: We will meet tomorrow morning
and under the schedule tomorrow evening
as well.
THE PRESIDENT: Delegate Boyer?
DELEGATE BOYER: Mr. President, the
General Provisions Committee will continue
its deliberations on education. We are prac-
tically finished in the phase of public edu-
cation, and on Thursday morning will
commence our deliberations on higher edu-
cation. I merely point this out to those who
may be interested. At 3:00 P.M. we will hear |
today from Mr. William Schmidt, who is
the Superintendent of Prince George's
County Schools, and later this afternoon we
will hear from our good delegation from
Montgomery County here in the Convention.
Tomorrow morning we will have as our wit-
nesses the acting Superintendent of Balti-
more City Schools, and at 11:00 A.M. from
the Advisory Council on Higher Education.
I merely identify these good folks because
I know that some of the delegates are
familiar with them and perhaps would like
to attend to hear these specific witnesses
testify. Thank you, sir.
