The invocation will be offered today by
the Reverend Forrest C. Stith, Sharp Street
Memorial Methodist Church, Baltimore,
Maryland.
REVEREND STITH: 0, Great God, who
hast caused our world to be; and who hast
given man dominion over it all; hear us as
we submit our petitions to Thee.
We are only men filled with inadequacies,
irresponsibilities, imperfections and often
misdirections; yet our prayer would be that
we be men. Men who take our responsibility
seriously; and render all our manhood for
this Thy world.
Give us no crystal ball or magic wand
that will automatically produce a correct
Constitution. But give us, oh, God, the cour-
age to stand for our separate beliefs, the
strength to be open minded to each other,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
Be Thou our vision, guide and stay for
now and for always. Through Him who ac-
cepted even our manliness, we pray.
Amen.
